STC phase compound excitation (brush) generators can lose magnetism when idle for a long time or when stopped with load. After the motor loses magnetism, the coil rotates in an environment without a magnetic field and no current is formed. At this time, the generator needs to be excited (magnetized).
The method of excitation (magnetization) is very simple.
Steps: 1. Open the shield at one end of the generator carbon brush and check whether the contact between the carbon brush and the copper ring is good.
2. A 12V battery, use a common light wire to lead the "+" and "-" of the battery to the "+ extreme" and "- extreme" respectively.
3. Start the generator and increase the throttle.
4. Use the "+ extreme" and "- extreme" to touch the two copper rings of the generator at the same time. If a large spark appears at the touch end, it means that the "+" and "-" poles are opposite, swap them, and touch the copper ring again; if there is no spark or very fine spark at the touch end, then the magnetization is correct, the generator voltage meter will have a reading, and the generator will generate electricity normally.
The above excitation (magnetization) method must be operated with safety. If the problem is not solved after completing the operation, please contact maintenance personnel.
